The ceasefire looks promising! On Sunday 19th January 2025, a phased ceasefire deal began in Gaza. It was through the efforts the public taking to the streets that we have gotten to this point.
At the time of writing this was one week ago. It has been emotional to see the hostages released on both sides over the last week. However we still want to remain prayerful and vigilant in holding peace in our hears being active watch people.

Groups like our partners Campaign Against Arms Trade have made a statement about the importance of keeping up the pressure post ceasefire! Let’s keep peace in hearts prayers and actions for all involved.
Now is the time to make sure our government knows that a ceasefire doesn’t mean it is business as usual for arms dealers. It must not reinstate the few licenses it suspended.
The genocide will continue, even without dropping bombs, unless Palestinian people are given full access to aid and the resources to rebuild.
Please keep writing your MPs and representatives reminding them that it is important that a ceasefire doesn’t mean it is business of unjust arms trade continues without any accountability for arms dealers. It must not reinstate the few licenses it suspended!
Even the UK government admits that it assesses Israel is not committed to complying with international humanitarian law (IHL). Even if there is a ceasefire, there is still concerns being raised that need to be carefully monitored of Israel breaching IHL in its actions in the occupied territories.

‘Lifting the unlawful restrictions on freedom of movement, ceasing the practices and policies leading to forcible transfers of civilians and ending all forms of torture and other ill-treatment of Palestinian prisoners from Gaza are also essential steps towards ending the genocide’.
